Our Story

Just a two minute sandy-footed stroll from the iconic beach, Bondi Beach House has been part of the local scene since the 1950’s, welcoming artists, writers, travellers, holiday-makers, and the occasional Hollywood A-listers all looking for something a bit special and homely. Now beautifully restored and refreshed, Bondi Beach House shares the same Australian spirit, offering guests a choice of five individual suites.

Nestled behind palm trees at south Bondi, Bondi Beach House is known for its friendly spirit and sublime guest experience; comfortable, convenient rooms that have been put together in an honest way. Thoughtful touches, T2 Teas, books, living plants. And a gorgeous garden terrace to enjoy breakfast on, or read a novel in the sunshine, or sit under the stars with friends and a bottle of wine.

Est. in the 1950’s Bondi Beach House is something of a local institution. So in its remaking we wanted to update things while staying true to the heartbeat of the Beach House. There is a quirkiness in the vintage furniture and lighting choices. Impactful art collected over many years. We’ve put quality and comfort first with locally crafted oak bed-frames and all-new organic mattresses. Beautiful French-linen bedding, delightful hand-thrown ceramics. Lovely timber and stone kitchenettes locally designed and made with great care.

The idea was always to create individual spaces; each room a character of its own so that guests have the sense they’re staying with an interesting friend in a great part of Sydney. Bondi Beach House was singled out as the best accommodation option in a recent UK Guardian article.

Accommodation in Sydney doesn’t come cheap, one affordable secret tucked among the palms and frangipani trees of south Bondi Beach is The Bondi Beach House with sunny rooms and suites, each decorated with tasteful antiques and Australian works of art.

It’s true, we feature exciting emerging artists alongside Australian legends like Max Dupain who captured the culture of Bondi over the decades. Thanks to our team of creative collaborators who worked within the beautiful bones of the Bondi Beach House to restore and refresh elements; David Harrison and Karen McCartney at Design Daily, Dangar Barin Smith, and Inde Studio.

We’re still the same welcoming
Bondi Beach House today.
